1) ¿Qué es la Startup Academy?

Es la primera alianza académica de innovación y emprendimiento, impulsada por grupo Zenit, la Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, la Universidad Católica del Norte, la Universidad Austral y la Universidad de Santiago, que busca diseñar y promover diferentes iniciativas que contribuyan a mejorar las condiciones para la creación y aceleración de emprendimientos de base científico tecnológico de origen académico. Las iniciativas buscarán responder a los desafíos socio productivos del país con foco en la descentralización y escalamiento a mercados internacionales, con foco en Latam.

2) Sobre el Advisor / Founder ¿Cómo funciona?

Durante la etapa de pre-incubación se asigna a cada EBCT un advisor que trabajará con el equipo, apoyando en ciertas actividades. Una vez finalizada la etapa de pre-incubación y comenzado el proceso de creación de la empresa, a través de un proceso consensuado entre el advisor y el emprendimiento se decidirá si el advisor para ha ser founder en el emprendimiento, o bien conservar su posición de advisor, o bien terminar la labor de advisor.

3) ¿Es obligación que el advisor entre a mi emprendimiento?

No, el proceso de Fit Founder, es consensuado entre el advisor y el emprendimiento, siendo como resultado de mutuo acuerdo, en que que: 1. El advisor pase a ser founder del emprendimiento. 2. El advisor continúe en calidad de advisor en el emprendimiento. 3. El advisor finaliza su rol una vez que haya concluído la etapa de pre-incubación.

4) ¿Cuántos cupos hay por universidad?

El número de cupos varía por etapa y cada universidad cuenta con los siguientes cupos: – Etapa de formación: 50 cupos por universidad – Etapa de pre-incubación: 4 cupos por universidad *Cabe destacar que cada cupo de la etapa pre-incubación, corresponde a un equipo compuesto por un mínimo de 2 personas.

5) Si no pertenezco a una de las universidades pertenecientes a la iniciativa. ¿Puedo participar?

No. Esta primera versión del programa, se encuentra exclusivamente dirigida a los ecosistemas universitarios de la Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, Universidad Católica del Norte, Universidad Austral de Chile y Universidad de Santiago de Chile.

What is Startup Studio Academy?

It is an initiative promoted by Grupo Zenit, Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, Universidad Católica del Norte, Universidad Austral and Universidad de Santiago, which seeks to create the first laboratory for the generation of university-based Scientific and Technological Entrepreneurship, providing training tools and developing skills during the incubation, creation, acceleration and connection of the venture with the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Why Startup studio Academy was created?

The initiative arose to address a number of gaps identified in academic EBCTs:

We seek to solve the main challenge of university EBCTs by strengthening the work teams with our network of experts/founders. Integrating themselves as team members instead of performing traditional mentoring.

Hands-on

The institutions that promote this initiative have a vast experience in supporting technology transfer, entrepreneurship, through the design of training programs, transfer and incubation of EBCTs.

Customer Discovery

We rely on the Customer Discovery methodology, adapted to the local reality, by the team, which has international certification, obtained in California, facilitating the early connection with the industry.

Enfoque Metodológico

Integral vision, being a link for institutional initiatives, allowing connection with incubators, transfer and licensing offices, among other academic units dedicated to the support of EBCTs.

During the pre-incubation stage, each EBCT is assigned an advisor who will work with the team, providing support in certain activities. Once the pre-incubation stage is completed and the process of creating the company has begun, through a process agreed between the advisor and the venture, a decision will be made as to whether the advisor will become a founder in the venture, keep his/her position as advisor, or terminate the advisor's work.

No, the Fit Founder process is consensual between the advisor and the venture, being as a result of mutual agreement, in that:

1. The advisor becomes the founder of the venture.

3. The advisor ends his/her role once the pre-incubation stage has concluded.

The number of quotas varies by stage and each university has the following quotas:

- Training stage: 50 quotas per university

- Pre-incubation stage: 4 quotas per university

*It should be noted that each pre-incubation stage quota corresponds to a team composed of a minimum of 2 people.
